Radiant Orchid

Radiant Orchid

Purple combines the calm stability of blue and the fierce energy of red and is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power, and ambition. Purple also represents wealth, extravagance, creativity, wisdom, dignity, grandeur, devotion, peace, pride, mystery, independence and magic.

The colour purple is a rare occurring colour in nature, something I hadn’t really considered until very recently but it is true. When you think of the sea and sky being blue and the leaves on the tree being green against the dark brown background of earth; there are very few things in nature that are purple, the orchid being only one of few.

Radiant Orchid on its own is a very bold colour which could work if you’re going for a real statement look. If you’re thinking of using it for a little boys nursery stick to block colours with straight lines or simple patterns that have no fussy fills or trims as this creates a more masculine style. The two nurseries below are both  great examples of how the colour can work for boys versus girls.

Boys Nursery Ideas

Mixing radiant orchid with other lighter shades such as lavender, blush pinks and even white will lighten the mood to create a more feminine look, which you could incorporate into a little girls nursery.  For finishing touches pair with pretty chandeliers or hanging pom poms to complete the look.

Other colours that would also work with Radiant Orchid include; mustard and navy.
