The Flower & Garden season is upon us and we couldn’t think of a better way to pay homage to nature’s finest than a feature of the Flower Themed Nursery. Bringing the outdoors in applies not only to spring but throughout all the seasons. A garden themed nursery may feature butterflies and flowers for girls or trees and garden animals for boys and inspiration can come from your garden, or any of the flower shows happening in London this summer.
A quick search on google for flower nursery ideas will have you inundated with a plethora of flower themed nursery ideas which can very easily be implemented in your baby’s nursery or child’s bedroom. Who doesn’t just adore a magical nursery?
Floral Cot Bedding
If we could, we’d choose embroidered baby bedding, every-single-time. The Gordonsbury Rosebuds Bedding Collection, available from our website, features delicate rosebuds on a soft pink & white stripe background. This baby girls’ cot bedding is feminine and romantic, and works well with a clean white background. The minimalist design makes it ideal for a contemporary or shabby chic nursery. If you’ve got a particular floral print in mind, you can have bespoke nursery linens made.
Floral Cot Mobile
Fall in love with this handmade beauty spotted on Etsy. Made from White Cherry Blossom, twig vine and crystals, this nursery mobile will steal the spotlight in your nursery. It is custom made to order and available in other flowers & designs. For safety, mobiles are to be kept well out of reach from children as they are only a decorative feature. Available to order from C3 Creations
Heritage British wallpaper company, Cole & Son, produces innovative and beautiful designs, reflecting their distinguished history as well as a continuing passion for new and exciting wallpaper designs. We love the Sweet Pea Design which speaks of legacy, English country and outdoor garden freshness all wrapped up. Ideal for a neutral nursery in need of a pop of colour, this soft pink on brown wallpaper carries a luminous gold hue which brings a distinctive, whimsical feel to the space.
Chic Window Treatments
Window treatments have the power to transform a room or sabotage it’s design. Choose blinds to show off floral prints with a large repeat pattern. Curtains will work well with small patterns. For a country feel, add polka dots and stripes in coordinating colours. Do not place a child’s cot, bed, playpen or highchair near a window. Make sure cords on curtains and blinds are kept short and out of reach and in line with current safety regulations.
Floral Wall Decal
Set against a contrast background, this is an easy and quick way to completely transform your nursery or child’s bedroom. Choose decals made from high-quality vinyl as they are removable without leaving any sticky residue. position the decal on a feature wall or right next to the wall. Modern nurseries will benefit from an illustrated, mod design as shown above while traditional nurseries will prefer a more exceptional alternative that is rich in detail and colour. A more timeless option is to have a mural artist paint a feature on to your wall. This gives your decor plans flexibility as the artist can incorporate other elements into the room, for example a stray leaf or handful of petals blowing out of the window.
Regardless of your choice, we can all agree that nature brings with it a sense of calm and tranquility, a much needed attribute in a child’s space.
